👟 Shoe policy: Both Disney and Universal measure with shoes on — normal sneakers count toward height. Platform shoes or thick heels will be flagged and removed. A typical kids' sneaker adds roughly ½". Water parks measure barefoot. Disney may issue a colored wristband to borderline kids so they aren't re-measured at every ride; Universal measures individually at each attraction. Tip: measure your child at home in their park shoes the morning of your trip — kids are also slightly taller in the morning.

Heights shown are minimum requirements. Pteranodon Flyers has a 56" max. Tomorrowland Speedway requires 54" to drive alone. Big Thunder Mountain reopened May 2026 at 38". Rock 'n' Roller Coaster closed; reopening summer 2026 as Muppets-themed. Jurassic Park River Adventure closed Jan–Nov 2026. Volcano Bay slides not included. Always verify with official park apps.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the height projection?
This ride height calculator uses WHO Child Growth Standards and assumes a child stays on their current growth percentile over time — a common, reasonable simplification, but individual growth varies. Treat the projected dates as planning estimates, not guarantees, especially more than a year or two out.
How do Disney and Universal measure height?
Both measure with shoes on. Normal sneakers count toward the requirement; platform shoes or thick heels get flagged and removed at the measuring station. Water park attractions typically measure barefoot instead.
Do shoes count toward the height requirement?
Yes — both resorts measure with shoes on, which is why this tool's height field asks whether you're entering a barefoot or with-shoes measurement (set the shoe boost above to match what you know, and it converts automatically).
What if my child is between two height requirements?
They can ride anything at or below their measured height and are not yet eligible for anything above it — there's no rounding up. The height table groups rides by their exact minimum so you can see precisely which tier your child currently qualifies for.
Which rides have no height requirement?
Several gentle attractions at both resorts have no minimum height — see the "No Height Requirement" section of the table above, which also flags which of those are genuinely stroller/lap-infant friendly versus rides that technically allow any height but aren't a good fit for very young children.
